Friends of Cherryhurst Park is a 501(c)(3) formed in 2010 when Montrose neighbors joined together to keep the Cherryhurst Park Community Center open during a city budget crisis. The group enhances and advocates for the historic Houston park, subsidizing buses for free after-school programs, caring for its 75-year-old oak trees, and offering free ESL classes.
