Annette Ramirez serves as the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar, having assumed office on January 1, 2025. She replaced Ann Harris Bennett, who did not seek re-election. A first-generation Mexican-American, Ramirez is a practicing property tax attorney with over twenty years of experience. She previously served as Assistant General Counsel at Aldine ISD, where she oversaw litigation involving delinquent property taxes, managed in-house property tax collection, and handled real estate matters. As Tax Assessor-Collector, she is responsible for collecting property taxes for Harris County and over 70 taxing jurisdictions, processing automobile title and registration, and administering voter registration for the county population of over 4.7 million residents.
