Good first step: Share Parents and neighbors near Finnigan Park
Hey, did you know there's a free youth center at Finnigan Park? It has a gym, computer lab, classes, and more. It's at 4900 Providence St. Pass it on to any family that could use it!
Request for approval to renew an interlocal agreement with Waller Independent School District for two Youth Service Specialists for the period of August 1, 2026 - July 31, 2027, and for Waller ISD to reimburse the County an annual standard fee of $45,469.00 per Youth Service Specialist which represents one-half of the total personnel and mileage cost for each position.
The Youth Education Town (YET) Center gives Houston kids and teens a safe, welcoming spot to learn, move, and hang out — all under one roof at Finnigan Park.
The YET Center is part of the larger Finnigan Park Project, a partnership between Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis's office, the City of Houston, and HISD (Houston Independent School District). Built with support from the NFL, the center includes a gymnasium, a movie room, and a computer lab. It shares its building with the Finnigan Community Center.
If you have a child, grandchild, or young neighbor who could use a positive after-school or weekend destination, the YET Center is worth checking out. Call ahead to ask about current classes, open hours, and any age requirements so you can plan your visit with confidence.
The YET Center sits inside Finnigan Park alongside the Finnigan Community Center, making this one location a hub for both youth programming and broader community activity in the 77020 area.
Every young person deserves a safe place to grow. The YET Center was built for exactly that — a community-backed space where school-age kids and older youth can pick up new skills, stay active, and just be kids.
