Volunteer at WHAM's food pantry, resale store, and programs helping West Houston neighbors meet basic needs.

West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1982 by seven local churches in Houston, Texas. Its mission is to help neighbors move from crisis to self-sufficiency by providing basic needs support such as food, financial assistance, housing help, job readiness training, and education. WHAM runs a Platinum-ranked food pantry (the largest in West Houston), offers rent and utility assistance to prevent eviction and homelessness, and provides programs like Back to School supplies, summer lunches, adult literacy, ESL classes, and disaster relief. The organization serves thousands of individuals and families in the west Houston area each year, with no fees charged to clients.
