The Southeast Coalition of Civic Clubs unites civic clubs and community organizations across southeast Houston. Since 2001, they have spoken with one voice on issues that matter to neighbors in the South Acres/Crestmont Park and Sunnyside areas. Joining or attending a meeting is a straightforward way to plug into local civic life.
The Southeast Coalition of Civic Clubs is a non-partisan (not tied to any political party) group of civic clubs and community-based organizations in southeast Houston. It covers two Super Neighborhoods: South Acres/Crestmont Park (No. 76) and Sunnyside (No. 71). The Coalition brings member groups together each month to share information, coordinate on community issues, and take collective action.
Start by calling the Coalition at (713) 738-7902 to learn whether your club or organization can join. You can also attend a monthly meeting as a first step — they gather the first Thursday of each month at Willie Lee Gay Hall on Airport Boulevard. Come ready to introduce yourself and hear what neighbors are working on.
