IM Houston (Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston) helps legal refugees rebuild their lives in the Greater Houston area. Through housing, job placement, English classes, and legal services, the program gets more than 80% of clients to self-sufficiency within six to twelve months. You can support this work by donating money, giving household items, or volunteering as a mentor.
IM Houston partners with the U.S. State Department and Episcopal Migration Ministries to resettle legal refugees. Services include finding housing, placing clients in jobs, teaching English, providing cultural orientation, and offering legal help on the path to U.S. citizenship. Financial gifts and donated household items — like kitchenware, bedding, and hygiene products — help furnish apartments for newly arrived families.
Pick the role that fits your life. If you have a few dollars to give, a financial donation or a purchase from the Amazon wish list goes straight toward essential home goods. If you prefer to give your time, volunteer as a cultural mentor — you might help a family explore a Houston neighborhood, practice English conversation, or figure out the METRO bus system.
