Ms. Rachel Speaks Out for Children at Texas Immigration Center

Popular children's entertainer Ms. Rachel spoke with 9-year-old Deiver Henao Jimenez at the Dilley Immigration Center in South Texas. The conversation revealed troubling conditions that affect children and families in our immigration system.

During their video call, Deiver told Ms. Rachel he wished he could leave so he could attend his school's spelling bee. Ms. Rachel described the call as "unbelievably surreal" and said it felt like talking to someone in jail. The conditions at the facility include medical negligence, lights that never shut off, and moldy food.
