The Houston Peace & Justice Center (HPJC) is a community action hub dedicated to peace and justice across the Greater Houston area. It brings together individuals, families, and organizations to learn, train, network, and advocate for a fair and nonviolent world — locally, statewide, and beyond.
HPJC offers peace education for all ages, activism training, and shared resources for people and organizations. It builds bridges between religious institutions, social service agencies, schools, and elected officials. Its vision includes age-appropriate peace curricula in local schools, nonviolent conflict resolution training for teachers, adult education programs, a resource library, event and meeting space, and community gatherings like an annual awards dinner and a peace festival for children. HPJC also tracks and shares information about military enlistment and nonmilitary options so students can make informed choices.
You can use what HPJC offers in several practical ways. If you lead or belong to a faith community, social group, or nonprofit, HPJC is designed to help your organization find partners and amplify your voice. If you are an educator or parent, you can look to HPJC for peace education materials and age-appropriate programs. If you want to get involved in local or state-level advocacy, HPJC provides training so you can show up prepared and effective. Individual members and organizational members together form the foundation that keeps this work going.

It models its collaborative approach after groups like Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston, which unites faith communities around a shared service mission. If you are already active with any Houston-area nonprofit, advocacy group, or faith organization, there is a good chance HPJC can connect you to partners you have not yet met.
Houston is a globally connected city, and HPJC believes that connection carries a responsibility. When neighbors, faith communities, schools, and advocacy groups work together — instead of separately — they can create real change. HPJC exists to be that meeting point, making collaboration easier and louder than going it alone.
