The FIGHT Toolkit is a comprehensive resource created by Gen-Z for Change to help people support immigrant communities and fight harmful immigration policies. This national toolkit provides three main ways to take action: funding rapid-response groups that provide emergency alerts and legal support during ICE activity, learning your rights through clear guides developed with the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, and engaging in voter registration and corporate accountability efforts. The toolkit focuses on protecting immigrants from intimidation and providing practical support during enforcement actions. For Houston residents, this matters because our city has one of the largest immigrant populations in Texas, with vibrant communities from Latin America, Asia, and Africa who contribute to our economy and culture. Harris County also sees regular ICE enforcement activity that affects our neighbors, coworkers, and local businesses. The toolkit helps us build stronger, more supportive communities by providing tools to respond quickly when enforcement happens and ensuring everyone knows their basic rights. You can get involved by visiting the FIGHT website to split donations between 22 rapid-response organizations across the country, downloading know-your-rights materials to share in your neighborhood, and using their voter registration tools. The resources are designed to be shared widely, so you can help educate others about immigrant rights and build community solidarity.
The current state of immigration policy in the United States is not
only inadequate, it is confusing, dehumanizing, and cruel by design.
Every single day, immigrants face ostracization from essential
pillars of society, constant infliction of fear, and brutalization
by a state apparatus for simply existing.
With the return of the Trump administration, we’ve seen a sharp rise
in demonization and vicious intimidation of immigrant communities
rhetorically, legislatively, and on-the-ground.
In response, Gen-Z for Change has launched FIGHT: a
comprehensive toolkit designed to combat attacks against immigrants
through impactful digital and on-the-ground mobilization. Rooted in
abolition, FIGHT is designed to work towards dismantling the
violent status quo and to build towards a future guarantee of
safety, freedom, and dignity for all immigrants.
Across the country, rapid-response groups are mobilizing to provide
emergency alerts, legal support, and material intervention in
response to ICE activity. These primarily grassroots organizations
are unquestionable lifelines for immigrant communities, but
oftentimes lack the institutional funding and resources they need to
function.
Split a DONATION between 22 of these crucial groups, helping to
sustain their frontline defense against state violence!
In the current political climate of the United States, knowledge is
protection. When faced with ICE intimidation and manipulation,
knowing your rights can mean the difference between safety and
vulnerability for yourself and your community. In partnership with
the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, Gen-Z for Change has developed
clear, accessible resources designed to effectively empower and
educate our communities.
These resources aren’t meant to be confined to our website: post
them on social media, drop them in group chats, tape them to bodega
doors, bus stops, schools—everywhere your community goes.
Our immigration system isn’t broken, it’s working exactly as
designed and is upheld by elected officials who push anti-immigrant
policies and rhetoric at
all levels of government. We need to replace them with leaders who will adopt an
abolitionist approach to immigration policy today.
Use our BallotReady tool to check your voter registration, upcoming
races in your local community, and the policy stances of candidates
to fight for bold systemic change at the ballot box!
ICE isn’t able to carry out their policy of mass deportation
alone—they rely on corporations to keep their operations afloat.
Currently, the federal government is spending millions of your
taxpayer dollars to put federal agents up in hotels across Minnesota
to abduct our immigrant community members. Let us be very clear:
they’re not welcome here.
That’s why we made an easy-to-use tool to demand that hotels refuse
to house ICE agents. By adding our shortcut to your phone, you’ll
automatically send emails to the managers and executives of major hotel chains,
including Marriott, IHG, and Hilton, and the allegedly involved
branch locations in the Minneapolis area.
FIGHT wasn’t developed in a vacuum; it was built
collaboratively with a coalition of trusted organizations leading
the fight for immigrant justice.
Across the country, these individual organizations are leading bold
campaigns to shut down detention centers, organizing students on
college campuses, and lobbying for pro-immigrant legislation. This
is the moment to deepen your commitment to the immigrant community
and plug into these movements.
