Restorative Houston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that trains a diverse, multigenerational network of restorative justice practitioners dedicated to building community and repairing harm across every Houston neighborhood. The organization began as a youth-led restorative justice program in Spring Branch ISD and grew into what is now Restorative Houston, focused on non-punitive approaches to harm repair in schools, neighborhoods, and the justice system.
The Happy Hour Gala is the organization's inaugural cocktail fundraiser, bringing together supporters to celebrate and sustain this community-rooted work. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, starting at 5 PM CST at 1315 Sterrett St, Houston, TX 77002. Admission is $200 per person.
Restorative Houston's programs include free monthly community-building Circles, a Restorative Justice Community Certification in Circle Keeping, youth leadership training, and partnerships with schools and detention centers. The organization centers the voices of those most impacted by harm and inequity, including youth, justice-impacted individuals, and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Donations and ticket purchases directly support these free and low-cost programs.
