Join a free virtual reality event at Houston Community College Central on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This special event uses VR technology to help people build empathy by experiencing life through someone else's eyes. Participants will put on VR headsets and step into story-driven simulations that show different perspectives on social justice issues, accessibility challenges, and diverse cultural experiences.
The event can host 40 people and offers free parking. VR for Empathy first came to HCC in 2019 and 2020, and now returns with new experiences. The Reality COLLAB works with HCC Central Community Outreach to show how virtual reality can be a powerful tool for education and social change.
Instead of just watching or reading about different experiences, participants actively live them through immersive technology. This helps build understanding, compassion, and cultural awareness in ways traditional media cannot match. The event welcomes students, faculty, and community members to discover how VR can inspire connection across differences.
