The Landing is Houston's first drop-in center for people who have been hurt by human trafficking and the sex trade. They help anyone who needs support, even if they haven't been officially called a victim yet. Houston has one of the worst human trafficking problems in America, but less than 2% of victims get help because most services require official identification first.
The Landing removes these barriers by welcoming everyone. They operate on Bissonnet Street, a known area for trafficking, and offer three main programs: a drop-in center open 5 days a week with food, counseling, and life skills classes; street outreach to find people who need help; and 24/7 crisis support for young people. Since 2016, they have served over 2,000 clients and provided more than 100,000 services.
Their faith-based approach focuses on meeting people where they are and treating everyone with dignity. They offer practical help like job training, GED support, and an Empowerment Program that graduated 43 people in 2023. The Landing believes everyone deserves to be loved, safe, and free.
