Table Talks is a video series that brings together Americans from different political parties to have honest conversations about divisive topics. The project features real people - Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and others - discussing issues like healthcare, immigration, abortion, gay marriage, welfare, and the economy. Each topic includes multiple videos where participants share their personal stories and different viewpoints. For example, on immigration, viewers hear from a day laborer from El Salvador, a business owner from Arizona, and a California Democratic Party leader. On healthcare costs, a Canadian-born Republican, an entrepreneur, a radio host, and a doctor share their perspectives. The goal is to move conversations forward by showing how real people with different backgrounds think about complex issues. Rather than debates or arguments, these are thoughtful discussions that help viewers understand why people hold different views. The videos can be shared on social networks to spark more dialogue in communities. This resource helps people practice civil dialogue skills and see others as full human beings rather than political opponents.
