Listen First Project is a nonprofit organization that helps people have better conversations across divides. Founded in 2013 by Pearce Godwin, it started with one simple idea: listening to people we disagree with can change everything. Now it's a national movement with over 500 partner organizations.
They run America Talks, where strangers from different backgrounds meet for face-to-face conversations. They also host National Week of Conversation, bringing hundreds of groups together for workshops and events. Their Listen First Coalition connects 500+ organizations that believe in the power of listening.
They create campaigns that show listening as a civic skill and do research on how connection helps communities. In our divided times, Listen First believes that real change starts when people listen to each other with curiosity and empathy. They help restore trust and human dignity through meaningful dialogue.
The Change Lab partners with Listen First because both organizations believe that building relationships across differences is key to creating lasting change in communities.
