The Change Engine
This campaign works to plant native trees in Houston areas that face flooding, heat, and air pollution problems. The program picks special 'Super Trees' that are best at cleaning the air, storing carbon, soaking up water, and providing shade. Houston Wilderness partners with Rice University, the Houston Health Department, and other groups to plant these trees in neighborhoods that need them most. The initiative helps fight climate change while improving health in vulnerable communities.
